I’m trying to retrofit a router table to my vintage table saw because of a tiny shop space. The 698 might fit better than the 696 table I have, which I got second-hand. It was missing the fence.

The #696 has four countersunk bolts that fasten it to the sheet metal frame (see pic).

Does the #698 also have four countersunk bolts or only two? How does it fasten to the frame below?

I have the 698…it has 4 countersunk screws to fasten to the legs.

Thanks for the info, Mickey. May I ask a followup? I called PorterCable to ask for this info, but they couldn’t give it to me “because the 698 is still available”.

I’d be grateful to know the thickness of the table.

Have your say...
