I have a Jet 10” lathe and am seriously considering upgrading to the Delta 46-460 12-1/2” VS lathe. The product fits my needs (and space) and I would get one in a heartbeat…if…

The greatest fear I have, intensified from reading stories of Delta’s inability to repair or supply parts for the unit, is that I get one and I have to get it replaced or repaired within the warranty window. Am I just paranoid, or is this something that I should really consider as a big negative and look elsewhere?

Any comments from LJ’s that have one and why/why not it’s a good decision for me?

LJ rocks, and thank you all for providing such a great resource for us non-pros.

I have had mine for 3 years now and I like it alot, however, I do not like the controls at the back of the head stock.
I have had no problems with it so far and it is still running great. I really wish I would have bought the extension for it many times and when I get the funds I will buy one.

I do not want to be nosey, however, if you have the funds for something alittle better and bigger you can get the Nova DVR XP with the extension and you can do things with that you could never do with the delta.

If you want more info just send me a pm

Great idea, the DVR XP. I live in a townhouse and have a small basement shop (about 200sf). Not sure if the DVR can fit my space. Maybe could fit my budget if I sell my dogs and wife…LOL.
