I am now getting around to posting on the few forums I am apart of and I deffently do not want to miss my LJ buddies and friends. I was in and out of the hospital and then back in for 9 days. All the Drs thought I had a brain tumor and could no see what else it could be. So for the last 9 months I have been a struggle. So here is a copy of what I posted on the WoodNet:
I am still here.
I had my surgery at 6am July 13, 2012 and I am feeling pretty tird.
They said it was not a tumor but a piece of Bone from the bombing I was in severl years ago.
When the Dr sowen my head up after the bombing he thought the scalp was split and I had a severe concuction (sp) and did not check further.
During the bombing I was close enough to the explosion that when on of my guys in front of me died some of his bone fragments were inbeded into my skin.
For almost 9 months I was haveing small bone slivers like wood slivers comeing out of my face, arms, belly, and legs. Kind of like achne (sp) and the slivers would be pulled out. The bugger man stil wants to se me in my dreams but I put him down most of time.
I do not remember what the Dr said they did nto see it on the Xray or I forget the other machin name, but that it looked like a tumor.
That is one of the reasons for the bad headaches, shaking, and eye problems. They did not tell me nor did I want to know what part of the bone was it, but it was about 2” long.
I am feeling a little sich to my stomch and shacky right now, however, I am doing ok.
Thank you everyone for teh prayers and thinking abt me.
Sorry for spelling

Thanks Pat, however, being so sick for the last several months I have not made any and the one guy that was helping is doing something else now. When I get better I will be making more not as good as others have made. It seems that there is so much talent here that it would take me years to catch up to them.

My brother in law is still pulling the occaisional piece of shrapnel out of his back, from a fragging incident in Viet Nam in 1970. I know of the pain he went through. Keep on plugging away, Arlin. You’ll have good days and bad days, but stay close to your Congressman, and patient advocates at the VA. Best of luck to you, sir.

Arlin I didn“t knew you have had a surgery but sure is glad it went well and you are on the ment hang in there :-) and when you return to the shop just keep pushing your self leaning new skills by setting the bar higher for every project you make and you will be one who inspire others to get your skills :-)
Arlin I happy you are back. And even more happy it was no tumor. Take your time, life is a matter of focus on the road not the goal. Thank you for your mail my friend, I am on holydays. Best thoughts and get well, Mads

It’s allways good news when they tell you it’s not cancer. Recovery is slow, but you WILL recover. Try to relax, do what you feel up to, do all you can but don’t put pressure on yourself. You served, got busted up and you’re still looking for ways to serve. That makes you one of the “Righteous” in my book. You will do well. Keep your positive attitude and be well. Thankyou for everything you have done and are still doing.
