So for this post, lets set rules that are in stone! You are going to buy a miter saw and you have ONLY these to choose from. Not going into full details, just an overview description. Which one do you pull the trigger on??

Lowe’s – Hitachi 10” with laser $169

Home Depot—Rigid 10” with laser $199

Home Depot – Ryobi 10” with laser $199

Of those 3, I would go with Ridgid. Good luck, and if we werent playing by the “rules”, at that price point, the DeWalt is also a good option. : )

I have none of these, but based on the brands,
I love every Ridgid tool I own. As a matter of fact, when possible, Ridgid is all I buy locally anymore.
I have never even put my hands on a Hitachi tools, so I know nothing of their quality.
I started out with a few Ryobi tools. My view of every single one of them I’ve ever owned is RUUUUUUN!
Seriously, I’ve had Ryobi tools offered to me free of charge and turn them down. I seldom say that about any brand, but out of about ten different Ryobi tools I’ve owned, every last single one of them have been crap.

Ridgid of the three. Then Hitachi. Wouldn’t buy the Ryobi.

Lasers…. meh. Invest in a good blade. Good luck!

Haven’t used a ridgid miter saw before, but have used a hitachi and it was quite nice
