I believe this is another Faux News story not worth the bits to be on the internet. I live within 4 miles of Cisco, 20 miles from Google, and right around the corner from Barracuda networks; NONE of these companies have raised any concerns in any media in the S.F. Bay area or San Jose area. So you be the judge …. hype or reality? -- "I never met a board I didn't like!" |

oldnovice Are you saying that the US Senator from Kentucky is lying and just hyping it up for nothing?! -- Have Fun! Joe Lyddon - Alta Loma, CA USA - Home: http://www.WoodworkStuff.net ... My Small Gallery: http://www.ncwoodworker.net/pp/showgallery.php?ppuser=1389&cat=500" |

Wouldn’t be the first time! After all, he is a politician. I live almost dead center of most of the internet giants in the world and if they are not concerned then why should I be? -- "I never met a board I didn't like!" |

LOL. I think the bulk of Rand Paul’s concern can be summed up in the last paragraph of the link -”After you complete the petition, make a generous contribution of $100, $50, $25, $10 – or more if you can afford it …”. That aside, sometimes even a blind squirrel finds a nut or at least what might be a nut. This Electronic Frontier Foundation article lays out the background and concerns with a little more nuance than Fox News. Frankly I find most of this stuff a little too much ‘inside baseball’ to really cipher it all out and gauge what my level of concern should be. And really, there’s only so many hours in the day to man the ramparts – what with all the socialists, Muslims, Kenyans, GLBT’s, etc. to defend against. But I will say, oldnovice, I don’t think that the Googles and Amazons of the world can always be depended upon to work for my best interest. Just my take. -- Visualize whirled peas |

Joe how come you always post all of your stuff with a link to your other woodworking site? I can never get to your articles from work because that site is blocked for me. -- Steve - Wasilla, Alaska |

AKSteve, I have answered that question before… I find it much easier to FULLY Post the information once… and use a link TO it from there… LumberJocks is not the ONLY place I make the information available. I’m sorry the site is blocked from your “work site”... not much I can do about that. Sorry… -- Have Fun! Joe Lyddon - Alta Loma, CA USA - Home: http://www.WoodworkStuff.net ... Steve, I had the same problem when I was working so I investigated why and was told that sites with “offensive” content are blocked! I did not asked for their definition of offensive! -- "I never met a board I didn't like!" |
