I picked up a Craftsman Miter box model #18136303 at a garage sale for $15.00. It has the original saw which is 26” long. It looks like a Disston saw but says Craftsman Kromedege. I’m just wondering if anyone on this forum is familiar with this miter box and what they think of it. Are there any pitfalls or problems I should anticipate? I am pleased that the saw and box is virtually rust free.

As long as it is clean and accurate, use it.
Might want to get the saw sharpened.

I don’t have their miter box but I have a Craftsman Kromedge saw that I bought in 1984 new. I always thought the saw was ‘OK” but nothing to write home about. This was their best saw at the time. I have recently sharpened the saw myself and what a difference. It now cuts as good as my Disstons and i have a new appreciation of the saw.
I also just noticed that it has a tapered plate like the old disstons. I would get that saw properly sharpened and give it a go.
