I had a big maple limb break out of a tree in my front yard. I’ve cut it up into bowl and rolling pin blanks. It’s reaction wood, so if it’s sawed into lumber it will make some beautiful slabs that resemble potato chips… Bowls and rolling pins won’t twist enough as they dry to mess up. Anyone close enough to Kingsport, Tennessee who would like some of these blanks, just come on over and load up your trailer. The tree is in decline and limbs are falling often, so sometime soon I’m going to have to remove it and plant one to replace it. All the big limbs will be cut into bowl blanks and I’ll never be able to turn all the wood. It’s too nice to burn, so come get it! I’m going to keep the ends wet till I either use it, or give it away. -- Hal, Tennessee http://www.first285.com |
