thought I’d share my 15” drum sander build with everyone. I was a fun weekend project that I get a lot of use out of. I found a 1hp motor on c-list and got the bearings at my local tractor supply. total cost was 150.00. yes that is a car jack, dont laugh. I still want to add on a top surface so I can sand on top of the drum as well.

Upon my return from my travels scouting for cheap storage locations, I rummaged thru my garden shed and found materials to build my drum sander build. It was not laborious, and it did not take a lot of my time. I showed it to a couple of friends and they thought it was expensive. But when I told them about the cost, the first thing they explained was, “It is cheap.” I was proud of it when I showed it off.
