Wow….looks like he has a lot of really nice stuff…what are his prices like? I am paying almost $10/BF for 5/4 walnut….Madison is only about a half hour from my house..

I want to say that he was around $6 for the walnut but dont quote me on it. If anyone is going to make a trip i might be interested in tagging along for the ride but the well is all dried up in the lumber fund for a little bit.

Thanks for the heads up. I’m on the eastern side of the state, so relatively close. And I’m slowly running out of Walnut.

I have a local guy that I have bought from that does a lot of Red Oak, Pine, and Cherry. I bought Red Oak for $1.50/bdft and he sells Cherry for $2.50/bdft. Most of the stock I bought was 8”+ wide (including a few 12” slabs), 10’ long, and 5/4 or 6/4 thick.

Just got an email back from him. He said 5/4 Walnut is $4-6/bdft depending on width/quality. I had been paying $6 for 4/4 at Parkerville Wood Products, so I’d say that’s pretty good.

Jmartel … nice to see another CT LJ .. welcome to the gang. I know he had soem pics up of some really wide walnut that was amazing looking, the prices are pretty good if you ask me at $4 – $6. Ive spent some time at Parkerville myself. They really like to round up their widths on ya which kinda irks me but they have great quality. If youre looking for rough cut stuff CWG up in Enfield is a pretty good place with a great selection too.
