Topic tags/keywords: spalted alder

Does anybody know where to find them? AZ. Sil. no longer carries them, and I can’t seem to find them anywhere else. I’ve looked at all the usual places (except ebay, had bad luck with the quality of blanks off ebay). No luck so far.

Any ideas?

Also you live in AZ, what do you think about this firm?

they seem to have good deals, I drive to AZ sometimes but never stopped by.

What Ebay dealers have you had bad luck with? I have been thinking about trying some, just like a heads up.

Actually I’m in Alabama. So I”m not much help as far a local recommendation in AZ. I’ve visited the woodworkerssource site a few times. Good descriptions of the wood. I think I even bought some bloodwood from them to make a frame a year or two ago. The quality of the wood was good. As a matter of fact I still have some scrap pieces around trying to figure out what to do with it. My thumb is still healing from the last time I tried to cut a small piece of it to inlay. It was my fault though. Didn’t have it clamped properly.

Hello, I have more spalted alder than I know what to do with. Are you looking for black line or just spalted?
