The jet pro shop model does appear to be a better saw if it is the one I am thinking about. Instead of a contractors saw it is what they call a hybrid between the contractor and cabinwt saws. It also looks like it comes with a better fence. All the ones I looked at were around 1000 though. Make sure that it comes with the fence, cause one of those will cost you around a couple hundred dollars. I got the ridgid cause I was on a budget and it appeared to be the most saw for the money. I love it, and while the fence system is pretty good it is not nearly as heavy duty as the bestlemire style fences. For the money it is a great saw. -- Glenn, New Mexico |

hi i dont know about you but when i look at something whatever it is i buy the one that feels most comfortable to me these are both very good models and if the price is about the same then go with your gut instinct i cant say which is better than the other as each offer different aspects that enhance thier proformance this probably doesn’t help you that much but i hope you enjoy which ever one you buy andy…... -- cut it saw it scrap it |

I know the Ridged rates most saw for the money – but its a lightweight style contractor saw. The Jet or Delta with the Besymer fence (in my opinion) makes for a better overall saw. Its still moveable while providing the weight and stability needed for precision type cutting: Remember to upgrade to a nice Freud fusion blade! Don’t get a nice saw then run crappy blade – its just waisting money and time. Ben -- Erica - I'll be out in the Man Cave - Bring me some meatloaf! |
