Topic tags/keywords: question drying milling

I just noticed an olive tree that had been transplanted to a new location is not going to make it. I plan on calling the site manager to see if I can help with the removal / disposal of this eyesore (wink, wink). My question is, since this tree is semi dry where it is, it the wood inside gunna be checkered or does the cracking mostly appear on cut / unsealed wood? Also, besides the dirt in the rootball, is there anything else I need to worry about when taking this old growth tree and making it into sawdust?

-- Sure Dear, I can make that for you. Lemme just run out and get a tool I need for that.

I don’t know if it will be checked; however, i would be willing to take some of it off your hands! :)
