Greetings All! I’ve been looking at the Big Horn Bandsaw Tension Crank @ at the following address: Wondered if any of you are using this item especially with an older Jet bandsaw. I have a 1992 Jet JBS-14. Some of the reviewers suggest the supplied nut didn’t fit the groove properly on their Jet saws. I contacted customer service at Big Horn and at Jet and both said they don’t know if this item will work with my saw or not. So…no help there. I think this could be great if it worked and came with the right hardware. Any of you Jet owners using it successfully? Thanks for the input! Norm

I bought one for my 14” Jet – What a piece of junk it was! Save your money! The very first time I tensioned my bandsaw after installation the threads stripped out on the threaded rod. I was about 80% tensioned as indicated by the indicator spring on the saw. Not worth the price of purchase and shipping in my case.

Thanks for the reply knothead. It’s hard to wade through all the gadgets not knowing what really works and what doesn’t. I like your postscript – so true: “So much wood – so little time.” Like most of the good things in life – not enough time to enjoy it. Keep making sawdust…
