Topic tags/keywords: question tablesaw

I recently purchased the Ridged table saw and it’s requiring me to use the 6” dado set. What is the best 6” set out there that would last a long time as well as affordability. I prefer to purchase a good set rather than a cheaper set that will need replacing in a few years. Any and all responses are accepted. Thank you and have a Great Navy day. Oh, and a happy Fathers Day to all u pops out there. Kris

You might want to give a shout out to LJ ” Knotscott”...he’s our resident blade expert here : )

I recently found out that my “name brand” 6” set can only cut a maximum width of 23/32”.... That was after milling all of my stock to a perfect 3/4” : ( DOH !!

I also have a Delta set that appears to have been sharpened by hand by various people using files or grinders over the course of about two minutes : ( It’s really sad to see Delta’s name on them.

I have a 6” set of Oldhams. Works for me. I probably use them once or twice a month. Couldn’t see blowing $200.00 bucks on a set.

If you’re looking for the best performer, the Infinity Dadonator is the best set I’ve used to date, and it’s available in 6” for ~$190. It’s hard for me to imagine any set at any price outperforming it….it’s that good. They’re currently offering a free $25 gift card with any purchase of $75 or more….code GC25FREE. If you’re interested in more info about Infinity, here's a great interview with the president of Infinity, David Venditto.

I have the Oshlun SDS-0630. It leaves great dadoes, and will go just over 3/4” when shimmed right… (It’ll do more than my arbor is supposed to)...

The Freud is also very highly thought of….

Thanks for all the replies. I will be sure to check out the dadoes you’ve suggested.
