I would like to request a new preference/option – the ability to hide ‘non-shop talk’ topics from appearing in the forum summary page. For example, 7 of the 20 headers on the first page are non-shop topics as I type this. It bothers me that I have to keep bringing up new pages to find woodworking-related posts. Since the non-shop titles are already masked, it frustrates me to see a 1/3rd of the entries are meaningless. It could be a user-selected option, so those that find value in that forum can keep track of updates, and others can choose to stay focused on the woodworking topics. Even if it had to be a universal setting, those that want to engage in Non-shop talk can enter that forum category, as opposed to those who don’t having to sort through 10 other forum categories to catch up. I think this would allow people to continue to express thier opinions in the NST forum, while preserving the woodworking-centric nature others of us are looking for here. Thanks for your consideration – love the site. -- Chris @ Atlanta - JGM - Occam's razor tells us that when you hear hoofs, think horses not zebras. |
