Topic tags/keywords: lumberjock in need

As some of you know, Neil has been seriously abused by the justice system in Ft. Collins, Col. A short synopsis is that because of his chemically burned eyes, he is in constant pain, needs quiet to sleep, but a neighbors barking dogs have driven him to the brink of a desperate situation. Read the full story here http://lumberjocks.com/topics/37402.

In an attempt, however clumsy, to help, I started a petition on change.org. http://www.change.org/petitions/tell-responsible-justice-agencies-in-ft-collins-to-do-right-for-mr-brooks-release-neal-brooks-vacate-the-order-to-stay-at-least-450-ft-from-nieghbors?utm_campaign=petition_created_email&utm_medium=email&utm_source=guides

Please go there and sign it. If we get a lot of signatures, I will present it to the networks and try to get them involved. I am going to try to contact the ACLU on Monday as they have a good record in civil rights cases such as this. If any of you have any other ideas, jump in. If you are from Colorado, put pressure on your congressmen and senators, or state legislators.

If you read Neil’s story, you will realize he has stepped into a s**t sandwich. The good ol’ boy network is in full steam to screw Neil and protect those who have no consideration for others. Come on, people. Jump on this and help out. “If we don’t hang together, we will most assuredly hang seperately!” (Benjamin Franklin to the Continental Congress after the signing of the Declaration of Independence)

Gary,

I don’t think an address is required. Maybe your state, but I think you can sign and withold your address. Whatever you are comfortable with. Every little bit helps.

I recently found a site that may help. It is all about raising funding when in need!
It is called Fundly
For those of you that are well acquainted with Neil please check it out!

I just checked the petition. So far, we have gotten 59 signatures; far short of what we need to help Neil. It takes only a minute, costs nothing and exposes you to no problems. It WILL, possibly, make a difference in a decent man’s life. So please, EVERYONE ON LUMBERJOCKS, take just a minute to sign the petition.

If you are unfamiliar with the situation, read the story referenced in this forum topic. Suffice it to say, Neil is a fine, good man, in an extreme medical condition, who has been abused by the justice system in his hometown and needs our help.

Please take a minute to follow the petition link and sign. You will feel better, and it may help a buddy.

Lumberjocks,

Maybe it’s because it’s hard to keep a topic on the front page, but I am sure it’s not because we don’t care about a fellow Jock in difficulty. Whatever the reason, there have been 63 signers to this petition in five days. The goal is at least 2,000! Tell me how to get people to look at this. PLEASE. I am only trying to help a good man. It may seem silly, but I really think we can help if we get enough signatures to send th goofball who effectively exiled Neil from his own home after sending in a swat team to arrest him; FOR COMPLAINING ABOUT DOGS BAKING NON-STOP!!!!

We have signers from as far away as Perth, Austrailia, but we can’t come up with 2,000 right here on LJS?
Tell me what needs to be done here and sign the petition.

To those who have signed, thank you. If you are on facespace and you feel it to be worthwhile, please put it on your wall, whatever that is.

facebook?

People on there usually rally behind things if they agree with it. It’s worth a shot. Also, post an ad on craiglist in that area. There might be people there willing to sign.

Just some thoughts.
