I just got a little query on my profile about my fiddling.

Here’s a quick resume.

Started in Grade School – classical.
Learned to fiddle and joined my first Irish band in ealry 90’s.
Won a few grand championships in Mid 2000’s.
I have a few CDs out. I can do a little name dropping but MY name doesn’t make the list.

All in all – I rate myself as a good fiddler. Good, solid, entertaining, worth the price of admission. I would love to become a master fiddler but I’m 50 now and I just don’t see it happening. I don’t have that kind of talent. I feel that some fiddlers out there are light years better than me . Some of them are half as old as all my years of fiddling. That should tell you something.

Anyhow – I have a great venue for talking about fiddling somewhere else. I’m not asking to talk about it here. What I really would like to do is chat with you all about some of these beautiful instruments you have made. I don’t have anywhere near your craftsman skills but I do have the”user” experience.

Looking forward to it

-- Thanks for all the lessons!

Hey – I rembered that there is a grainy poor quality youtube video of my playing with my old band. It seems to me that I was boastful in my opinion of my playing. Better that I let you decide for yourselves.

By the way, I look at that video and I find it hard to believe that I was 70 pounds heavier back then. God helped me all the way and now I’m healthier as a 50 year old than I was throughout my 30s and 40s. What’s cool is my wife … Sorry – not for you. ;)
