Topic tags/keywords: daily top 3 question I was delighted to have a project in the daily top 3 last December but I have no idea how it got there. Just wondering. Murch. -- A family man has photos in his wallet where his money used to be. |

I think it is the amount of activity on the project overall (comments, favourites, views), but I could be wrong. -- Ryan |

I’d say number of daily views. Martin? :) -- Thomas - There is no such thing as a problem, there only are solutions. |

The original posting about this (which doesn’t contain the answer to your question, but is interesting nonetheless) was here. -- "Do not speak – unless it improves on silence." |

I am pretty sure it is the views. -- patience is a currency that always pays dividends. |

Although looking at KnickKnack’s post I see I am only partially right -- patience is a currency that always pays dividends. |

I don’t think it’s just views or comments, or just those two together… Right now Wood, Leather and Metal and Purple heart and Maple Cutting Board are 8 and 6 respectively, but Wood, Leather and Metal (8th) has 415 views and 9 comments while Purple Heart and Maple Cutting Board (6th) has 314 views and 5 comments. Wood Leather and Metal has 0 favorites, where as Purple Heart and Maple has 6, but then others have more favorites and fewer comments/views and are still lower… wonder if it’s a weighted sum, or something… -- Mos - Twin Cities, MN -- Stanley #45 Evangelist - www.youtube.com/MosquitoMods |

Thanks KnickKnack – Interesting all right, a secret formula by golly! Jacob – I suppose if it was just “views” we could view our own projects constantly. The formula must remain a secret for the good of all mankind lol. -- A family man has photos in his wallet where his money used to be. |

The number of times it is favorited wieghs into the formula too. -- "Hard work is not defined by the difficulty of the task as much as a person's desire to perform it.", DS251 |

Good Evening All: After READING Knicknacks LINK on Post #3, to Martins Post… ”Daily Top 15 is here”. It all seems Quite Clear. A part of that is ” ....result of the secret formula that takes views, comments and faves into account. So the more you spread the word about your project on other social networks like your Facebook or Twitter, the better your chance is to get to the list.” Some of the Comments on that Post are also quite interesting. The last part about spreading the word on those Social Networking Sites is something I would NOT do. Nor do I understand how that will garner you a higher number of the Three Factors mentioned. Perhaps there’s another reason for wanting that to happen. TO ME only, and with all due respect to Murch, It doesn’t really matter if I’m on there or not and NONE of them went to any Social Media Site. All of my above mentioned Projects were Posted between Feruary and May of 2010. I’ll use one of mine as an example, but they’re all within the same range. Over 840 Days ago…... 4964 Views … 45 Comments … 31 Times Favorited. As at June 16, 2012 the #1 of the Top Three is 745 Views ….. 11 Comments … 3 Times Favorited. So? What are all the Members doing?? ....LOL… I have the Site “Bookmarked” (Desktop Shortcut) so it opens on MY Home Page. Regardless of whether I’m “Signed In” or not. If and when I want to look at “Projects” I click on the “Projects” Tab, look over the Present (Latest) Projects and leave my Comments. I don’t use any of the Sub-Headings. BUT!! ...LOL…. I did a few minutes ago. “most discussed” was from 589 Days Ago at 213 Comments. “most favorited” was from 1493 Days Ago at 327 Times. “most viewed” was from 1601 Days Ago with 172,306 Views and 188 Comments. For “Whatever Reason” I doubt that we’ll ever see figures like that again, regardless of the “Number Of Members”. Best Regards: Rick -- ENJOY YOURSELVES GUYS!!! |
