I picked up a vintage 4” jointer for a mere $17 last weekend.
It is rusty but seems to be all intact. I’m going to set up an electrolysis vat and try cleaning it that way.
That process seems to be just the ticket for this thing.

Looks like I didn’t need the vat after all. It cleaned up to this point with some oil and sandpaper.
Doesn’t seem to be a lot of wear on the castings but there is some pitting. Will need some new bearings too.
The blades are remarkably still very sharp. I’d guess this was used for a short time and then abandoned.
The paint on the underside and most of the exterior is still in good shape.
