I just got back from HF. The 6” jointer is on sale for 200 bucks and the 20% coupon works on top. Paid 159 for it. I know it’s no powermatic but surely it’s worth 160.

I’m not a fan of the fence on the HF jointer but for $160 you did all right.

If you can find a HF ad in a magazine, they usually have the 20% off coupon and are usually good for a few months. The monthly HF mailing usually has them every other month or so, but they are only good for that month. Showing my age, the AARP bulletin (not the magazine) usually has them. This months (June) issue has a 20% off coupon that is good until the 3rd of October 2012. Also has a “FREE” coupon for one of those cool 9 LED flash lights.

Cheers,
Brad

you can get the coupon right on the HF site.

The sale only lasts through tomorrow I think. Their 2hp dust collection system is on sale or $200 as well. I know that is another one that people think of as sort of a diamond in the rough, add the coupon its 160 as well.

If you see something on the HF website at a special price, print off the page and take it to your HF store. They will honor it.

OK, I’m working on assembly now. Has anybody put one of these together? I’m at the point where I mount the motor to the vertical bracket, but unless I missed a step at this point the bracket is only attached on the bottom. I have a feeling that the weight of the motor is going to bend that cheap Chinese steel like it is, well, cheap Chinese steel. Any thoughts?
