Hi there, just found this forum so thought I’d join. I’ve been designing wood projects for years now (100s for laser cutters and cnc routers) and have been collaborating with other designers around the world creating projects though my site,

Here is one of my latest CNC router projects! It’s a working siege weapon! I prototype using cheap plywood (6mm) and hate sanding but I will be making them in hardwood in a few years once the kids come along.!!

I’m getting into more elastic powered models and I’d love to see what others have made – guns and crossbows are where I’m headed with a few design ideas. I’ve also published 6 books and have two more in production at the moment… looking forward to learning and seeing projects from the rest of you!

Welcome to Lumberjocks Jon. What cool toys, can’t wait to see what they’ll look like in hardwood. I used to run a CNC at a cabinet shop, and would love to have one in my shop. The possibilities are endless. You know…with my spare money. Anyway, welcome to LJs be prepared to spend some serious time looking at other’s projects, there’s a lot of them. Would be curious to have some more info on your books?

Hi LukieB, you can download my books and read more about the project in them here:

or order them printed and shipped to you by following the links on

I’m currently working on a book focused mostly on CNC table router designs (you’ll see the projects under ShopBot CNC heading on with a few laser and 3D printed projects in there too.
