Topic tags/keywords: possible tool gloat tablesaw refurbishing question

I picked up this Craftsman model “100” table saw , 1hp motor , carbide blade ,fence , metal stand , cast table extension , and yes , you are seeing an Incra 3000 miter gauge w/18” fence , along with a 36” Incra fence extension ,and Incra flip-stop , for $50 today. He was asking for $100 , told me to make an offer , so I did and now it’s mine : )
Saw needs a new belt and one of the drive pulleys is in need of replacement (distorted pot metal) , and a bit of elbow grease to clean it up. The pictures are from the seller. I had to take it apart to get it all into my vehicle , which the owner brought up from his basement for me due to my sprained ankle…Such a nice guy !!

You should be glad you bought the table saw, because if I wasn’t taking care of my father yesterday, I would have seen the ad and bought it. great find!

for that price you stole a miter gauge and have a saw that you might be able to put to use. Nice.

amagineer , I thought that someone was going to get there before me as well…I’ve been looking for a saw of this size and quality for my smaller projects. How could I pass up the gold paint and chrome grill and knobs ? LOL

Dan,I’m cleaning up the saw in between icing my ankle…I definitely plan to keep it and use it ...hopefully I’ll be able to make a couple of inserts for dado and zero clearance use…the original is only 1/8” thick : )

Geeze. I bought a real cheap table saw brand new 5 years ago when we started a room addition on the cabin. A Skil saw for the river so I can help my husband out there. I told him if we buy this I can do all the trim work inside. And I did. Paid $100 for it. I’ve used it alot! It did the job but I hate it!
Now that we’re almost done with the cabin it’s not going with the decor anymore. I am so ready to get rid of it! Took the shop vac home a few weeks ago, that’s how close I am to being done and I don’t want to use the saw inside the cabin anymore making all that dust. I was hoping to get 50 bucks for it. Now you got me thinking I should just give it away?

thats a great deal Dusty, little elbow grease & $20 worth of parts and it should run like new. The miter gauge alone is worth way more than that, Sweet!

-- Martin ....always count the number of fingers you have before, and after using the saw.

You got a great deal on a good old saw! I picked up a saw just like that a year or two ago at an auction. No one wanted it because the motor just hummed. I figured it was just a bad capacitor and got it cheap. Turns out one of the wires to the capacitor was unplugged. Put the wire back on and the saw has been working great since. I have a table extension for both sides, if you can find another one it would be a great addition. Definitely worth cleaning up! Should last you a long time.

You Done REAL GOOD there Mr. Dusty!! I’ll bet that baby last for a Real L O N G TIME!!

I think it’s the same saw my Dad had for Many Years, that went “Who Knows Where?” I wanted to get a better Look at it so I downladed Your Picture to see what I could see.

Couldn’t do much with the Pic as the Original was not in Good Shape.

Rather than just Deleting it I’ll Post it on here for “Posterity” ...LOL… Hope You Don’t Mind.

Best Regards: Rick
