Topic tags/keywords: question jointer setup jig aid delta

Hi guys, so I finally got my first jointer. and the guy also threw in a Delta Magna-Set (37-157) to aid with setting up the knifes. but I have no idea how to use it :-/ and couldnt locate a manual for it online (not even on Delta website nor their service.net site)

does anyone here have one of those, and can give a few pointers on how to use it?

Thanks a lot!

I never used one but there is a picture here showing a similar device in use.

Thanx Lew.

I actually found a useful video on FWW here : Shopmade Jig to Set Jointer Knives that shows how to make a shop made jig that does the same thing- and also explains how it’s being used if anyone is interested (not sure – but you might need to be a FWW member to be able to watch that) once I start using the Delta Jig, I’ll blog it with pictures and explanation as to how it’s used… more to come

You set it on the outfeed table with the heavy duty magnets, and the magnet over the blade raises the blade to level w/the outfeed table. Just tighten down the bolts… it’s that easy. This is great, cheap, and easy!!!
