Sure would be nice if everyone would put a location in the profile section. Does not have to be anything more exact than a state or even a region.
It would make responses more fitting. I see lots of questions about “where can I buy, how do I dry, tech support on equipment, etc.”
Just my thoughts…..

As I have said before, mind this is just my opinion, nobody really needs to know my location. We should all be aware how specific personal information can be used when posted online. I do wish that we lived during a time when we could trust each other; however, we must be careful . Everyone has a specific comfort level of what they are willing to post.

Chris, I wasn’t EVEN meaning that locations should be specific. I certainly understand and respect the need to be somewhat “hidden”. My ONLY thought was to be able to indentify issues that might be specific to a particular geographic area. Drying wood in Arizona is certainly different from dying in my home state of Mississippi. Just an example.

I agree because I’d like to add “locals” to my buddy list.

How about West central Ohio? That close enough? Two hours from Cincy, about the same from Toledo. I-75 is on the west side of town. Columbus is about an hour and a half to the south east.

I believe we could all be helped a little bit by the lumberjacks being a bit more specific in listing their locations. I don’t mean actually addresses, but at least something identifying their state and rough locations. It would allow LJs to help each other with info such as wood availability and wood shows etc.
Just my nickel !

I am very much against giving addresses online my shop has simply too much expensive stuff to advertise and I am quite well known in this region as I owned several businesses here in my hometown but people usually don’t bother me my rough location argyll Scotland is enough for all to see anyway I love you guys. WOOOOO! Didn’t know that I’d hit that big nerve. I was just tryin’ to be more helpful. Oh well….
Danged if ya do, danged if ya don’t. Not too many of us in Mississippi still make our own whiskey. But its not a bad idea. Now, if ya can just tell me where I can buy a 3/8” drill rod without havin’ to spend a zillion bucks on shipping? Oh, my zip code is a secret. Don’t want anybody sneakin’ up in the middle of the night.

I agree Bill. Add a region or even just the town isn’t going to hurt. If you need to hide that bad, you should rethink your ways.
