Has anyone used Cabot Australian Timber Oil?
I was at Lowes stocking up on my spar and stain and the rep for Cabot was there and gave me a quart of the Australian Timber Oil.
I will try it out on the next cedar Adirondack chair I make. He says you won’t need to spar it afterward.

I don’t mind spar now that I have my sprayer, but if I can do stain and seal in one easy application…

Great stuff! I use it on exposed pine in NM at 6300 feet where the sun gets mighty bright and hot. Gotta recoat every three years or so, but it’s durable and easy to apply. I also used it on an ipe desk top. Looks great

Have you tried Tru-Oil? It is normally a a gun stock finish, but I have been using it on Bubinga successfully. Woodcraft only sells it in small quantities for relatively big bucks for an oil finish. I found larger quantities on the internet through a gun supply store. I like the fast dry qualities of the finish and the hardness. Thanks.

Eventually I plan on using lots of things to see how they look.

The guys at Woodcraft were amazed I would use it for anything other than expensive gun stocks, due to it’s cost, but again cost is only important if you don’t get what you pay for. Thanks.
