Happy Canada Day fellow Canucks.

Its also rememberance day in in NL of the Battle Beaumont-Hamel.

On July 1, in broad daylight, one hundred thousand men climbed out of their trenches and advanced shoulder to shoulder across the crater-torn waste of No Man’s Land. At Beaumont Hamel, the Newfoundland Regiment was virtually annihilated. In less than half an hour, as they advanced into point-blank fire, the Islanders were cut down. Of the 801 men who went into the battle only sixty-eight unwounded men answered the roll call the next day.

Its a little odd celebrating and remembering at the sane time.

Happy Canada Day from a fellow canuck down under. The day has come and gone already here ( it was a nice day btw) but you lucky Canadians living in Canada get to do it all over again today.

Hats off to the men at the Battle Beaumont-Hamel. The Great War was anything but great.

Happy Canada Day!

Sit down, have a beer, and remember the people who have assured our freedom.

Canada has a day? Wow, what will they think of next? Well, Happy Canada Day to one and all, particularly those that are of the Canadian persuasion.
