So I bought a used DJ-20 a while back and absolutely love everything about it except changing the knives and the hassle of taking them in to get sharpened etc. and I have decided to purchase a byrd helix head for it. When I first brought the unit home and made the tables co-planer I think whoever had it before me has scored or damaged the eccentric bushings which made them very difficult to turn for me (yes two set screws, I know) and so I was planning on just replacing them all the way around while I was going to all the work anyways and wanted to know any advice tips tricks etc. In looking at the diagram it seems as though Ill have to pull the tables off the cabinet, tip it to the side and then proceed to remove both infeed and outfeed sections to get access to the bushings and rods. I am assuming that I just tap them out from this point, am I correct?
