I think a great new feature would be the ability to follow a series without following everything else the author post. Just a suggestion. This site rocks either way.

Yeah, like rent-a-buddy (sort of).

What if you ‘Favorite-ed” the post? Just click [Add to Favorites] button. Then it’s in your ‘My Lumberjocks’.

Poopiekat, I think he means “Follow” a series so to speak, so any new entry the author posts under that blog series sends a notification, instead of every thread/blog/project/review, etc.

Would be a nice feature, I think.

But a favorite doesn’t generate an email with a new addition. I was thinking of an email when a new blog is posted in a series. I like the rent-a-buddy (sort of).

I think jacob is right, you can ‘watch’ the posts you are interested in and not everything by that LJ is mailed to you.

you are correct Mark, but if a new post is added to the series, you are not notified.

So if somebody doesn’t care about my woodworking, but wanted to be informed when I added a new blog to my plane restoration series, he either has to ’’buddy’’ me and get notified for everything I do, or not be notified at all. You can watch a current blog, say the one on making totes, but if I add one for changing blades ( i just made something up) there would be no notification.

Ditto, this is needed.

I’d like to be able to subscribe/follow a Blog series so that when a new entry is made then is automatically added to my LJ pulse.

Good idea Don, although in your case I want to be notified of everything you do, so you’ll always be a ‘buddy’.
