Topic tags/keywords: question I don’t know about everyone else, but I use my iPad and iPhone in my shop as much as I do my shop vac, I think it would be absolutely awesome if I could post projects or make blog entries from these devices with an app, so I’m hoping this forum will help spark some Interest and get the attention of the head LJ and hopefully hear some news that an LJ app is in the works -- Transformers, robots in disguise |

I use mine quite a bit especially if im using an instructional video. I can keep going back n forth between them. I also have a fractional calculator and a board foot calculator on my iphone. And of course id use an LJ App. -- "there aren’t many hand tools as awe-inspiring as the #8 jointer. I mean, it just reeks of cast iron heft and hubris" - Smitty |

I’m ok without the app, but I might be biased… this setup is now in the corner of my shop.

I use a Golden Ratio app on my phone when I’m turning hollowforms. Great tool. Also have some conversion calculators, that come in handy. Rich |

I’m a huge techy nerd.. but I don’t really know what an LJ app would do better than loading up the tablet/phone browser. If anything, I think it would be useful if LJ was browseable through tapatalk -- Dan, Rochester, NY |

+1 for tapatalk I surf LJ on an iPad frequently, but posting from one is difficult and some functions don’t work. -- Matt, Pine is fine, but Oak's no joke! |

ipad and iphone are workable with photobucket, thankfully. use the phone all the time in the shop for pics (which is why they’re not as nice as many, but quite passable) and easily post them to LJs. -- Don't anthropomorphize your handplanes. They hate it when you do that. -- OldTools Archive |

I use my iPad in the shop to view videos, and follow plans. Recently I figured out a way to export SketchUp files to the iPad for viewing, and that has been a huge plus. I’ll also use the iPad to run audiobooks when I know I won’t be using power tools. -- Beer, Beer, Thank God for Beer. It's my way of keeping my mind fresh and clear... |

I use the ipad exclusivley for Lumberjocks, i dont really need an app for that but if I could get obne for my smartphone that would be helpful. I can not post pictures of projects with the ipad, so I need to go to my desktop or laptop. This is where a a phone app would be handy. -- Martin ....always count the number of fingers you have before, and after using the saw. |

I go to the shop to get away from the constant contact my job requires. I can just as easily scrawl down cut lists on a piece of paper, plenty of pencils always around. The most high tech item I allow into my shop is an older iPod touch, used only for random playlists. |

Hey guys, help me understand what an LJ app will do for us. I have a Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 running Android and I can upload pix directly from my tablet to LJ’s. What advantage does Photobucket offer? What advantage will an app offer? -- I would drink a river of the kool aid before I took the smallest sip of the tea... |

DKV, iPads have the problem directly uploading and downloading files. You usually have to use a third party to do it. It’s kind of a pain, and I WISH Apple would get off their butts and FIX THE PROBLEM ALREADY. Just unwad your panties, make the Apple equivilent of Windows Explorer, and get is over with! There. I vented. Still love my iPad though… -- Beer, Beer, Thank God for Beer. It's my way of keeping my mind fresh and clear... |

Milo, you can post to forums you just can not upload photos without something like photobucket. I am assuming an LJ app would take the place of photobucket. Correct? -- I would drink a river of the kool aid before I took the smallest sip of the tea... |
