Ok, there are no prizes, but you’ll have bragging rights if you win.

How many comments will Bertha’s Hand Plane of your Dreams post end up at?

I wish I could close the thread on my own. I’d have it rigged for the big win:)

As long as LJ is up and running – it will be there covering just about any and every topic from cars, boats, planes to planes and saws – I expect

The handplane thread has an honest thread count. It always has been, from day one, a thread about handplanes. Some people simply warm over their previous threads and stick a new title on it, thus accumulating the post count from previous incarnations of their earlier topics. At least he keeps Roger Clark busy! :-)

I second the notion that it indeed willl not end. And will remain focused on hand planes to the degree is has, remarkably, through the vast majority of it’s first 13,xxx threads…

^lol. That thread’s funny in that politics and religion never come up. You’ll find some of the regulars in a political thread or too but they kind of leave that stuff at the door. Don’t want to go tracking politics across a perfectly good thread;)

There are some things that cross the line – that would be one of them. That thread is becoming the epitome of woodworking – with the saw thread as a second (sorry Stumpy)

The hand planes thread is a great one, I have peered in from time to time,a nd it’s very educating. As for ending, don’t think that’s possible, it has taken on a life of its own and is self sustaining. This thread will be around long after I’m gone, LOL

I haven’t looked at it since it hit around a thousand, I think. It shows as 11,633 posts since I last looked at it.
I am going to say it will stop at 20,000 posts. Not because I think I am good at predicting human behavior, but because it is a nice round number and no one has picked it yet, or any number for that matter. But I am laying dibs to it.

Bertha must recluse himself, as he said because he can fix the contest.

I reserve the right to move my guess out ten thousand at a time deemed appropriate.

I don’t think I would ever have time to catch up by reading it but I always look forward to seeing the post count.

Atually, there is a limit – software and storage. Just like a spreadsheet this software may have a finite limit – if not, the storage system does.
