Don’t know about the project you are talking about. But there’s always the easy picture frames. All straight pieces and lots of glue. Make a frame the size of the picture to frame then cover that frame with a wider frame – use larger corner blocks to jazz it up a bit. Very easy—and can be done with pine that can be painted, stained, stickered, or have macaroni pasted onto.

How about step stools. Both my boys made one for their first woodworking project and had lots of fun with it….although it didn’t take long for them to find out sanding is no fun. :) I have a step stool on my website in the painted projects that I used for my guys.
