CAL Berkeley Fans - The Wooden Duck is selling off wood from the old stadium

Not a fan myself, but I cant pass up on picking up some of this historic wood. Mostly bleachers material with the row/seat numbers proudly showing on half of the wood. The pieces with the numbers on them cost about twice as much. Starting at $5/ft for some historic and old-growth Alaskan Yellow Cedar, many with the fading blue or gold CAL colors gracing it’s surface.

And I found it on Craigslist to boot…

I’m stopping by this weekend to check out the material in person. If you’ve never been to the Wooden Duck, check out their website. They have been a source of inspiration for myself since I went to check out dining tables. When I saw how much they charged, I couldnt it believe it and decided to take up woodworking. It’s been a fun ride so far but I’m looking forward to stepping up my projects with some larger pieces.

I’m also picking up some reclaimed bowling lane wood… maple and yellow pine for $15/ft. Looking forward to working with the wood.
