Is there a pen kit that uses actual M0nt Blc refills?

Topic tags/keywords: pen turning question

I know I messed up the name. Don’t want them coming after me or LJ for usuing the actual name but I’m sure all you pen turners and most everyone else know what I’m refering to. I have a friend that wants one of my pens, saw one of the “MB Style” kits but didn’t want it when he found out it uses Cross refills. I said huh? Not as if Cross is a second rate pen. But he is an Attorney and I guess he has appearances to keep up. I know they do right extremely well and have wondered this before. But with Parker and Cross options, I never really worried about it. Is there a kit that is made for but just doesn’t mention MB by name because of how tightly they protect it? Or any that can be modified (and still perform to the same quality). I’ve heard mixed reviews on some Euro/Desiginer 8MM rollerball, but it still lists Cross as the refill. Is it the designer rollerball that requires the step drill bits? Any others? Really want Blk TN but Gold will do if that is only option.

Any ideas?

Hi Dad-

I don’t know the answer to your question but I would like to know also.

I actually answered the question myself on another post. I know for sure the Baron/Navigator/Gent Jr style will take it. I believe the Statesman Jr./Tycoon or whatever other sites call it will accept them as well. I think anything that will accept a Schmidt refill will accept a MB refill as well. From what I’ve seen that is most of the rollerball style pens. I haven’t looked at all of them but I do know for sure the the kits I mentioned above will take them because that is what I’ve been writing with all day. But to tell you the truth, I like the refills in the kit better.
