Topic tags/keywords: bookcase bookshelves casing out of plumb

So I’m building some bookcases on either side of the opening (see pic). I’m planning on installing 3.5 inch casing all around the opening. THE PROBLEM is that the wall next to the column is .5” out of plumb (.5 being on the bottom). How do i install the bookcases with the casing butted up against them and not have a .5 ” reveal near the casing on the bottom? Thank in advance.
