Topic tags/keywords: recover saved draft

For the last 30 minutes I was making an important post where someone had asked for some help. I accidentally hit some key or something and lost every word in my post. I know – I should have been saving it myself in case this happened. Well I didn’t. I noticed a note just below the posting window that said that my last draft was save at such and such time. I have looked all over this place to try to find out how you go about recovering a saved draft. Can somebody tell me how to do that? I don’t have time to start all over on the post right now because I’m at work so I sure would like to recover the saved draft.

Thanks

Sometimes when you go back to the forum where you were, the text is still in your box. I’ve aborted posts deemed to be in poor taste after some reflection and found them waiting when I returned.

Thanks, Al. I’ll give it a try.

Didn’t work. I appreciate it anyways, Al.

I am sorry to be the barer of bad news, but I am afraid it may be lost. Once or twice that happened when I was writing my blog. Once I was almost through writing a rather long article, complete with pictures and the same thing happened. I went back to where the post should be, but it was gone. Nothing I could do would recover it. Sometimes I think the ‘auto save’ fails. That may have occurred here. I hope not! :(

Yep… I think it went to “bit heaven”...

I hate it when that happens…

... you just have to bite the bullet and start all over trying to remember what you did…

Sorry…

Sorry Charles. This has happened to me a few times too. I tried to recover the text, but couldn’t find any way to do it. It is probably a good idea to write lengthy posts on Notepad or some other text program and then copy it over to your LJ post. I know many do this.

I’ve written some things here worthy of a Pulitzer, only to lose them when I race over to Amazon;)
Bit heaven, I like that Joe:)

Been there. So now what I do now is if it requires more then a few words I write it in MA word, cut and paste.

Have your say...
