Hello, I recently purchased a used grizzly shaper model #G1024, and unfortunately, the spindle was missing. I did not notice it because it was set up for router bits, and there was a Freud rail and stile cutter in the shaper. The shank is 1/2” so I missed it. I called Grizzly tech support and they told me that model is discontinued, and parts are not available. They have a model G0510Z which is very close, but Grizzly tech told me that the parts are not interchangeable. This is a long shot, has anyone ever had this problem, and where I can get a spindle. Thanks Dave

eBay? Craigslist?

Dave,
Can you Measure the spindle housing dia? I have a Powermatic #23 and I think it was made by the same company that made the Grizzly. I am trying to get measurements of the G0510z to see if I can use the 0510Z spindle Assy. Mine has a 3/4” spindle but can’t use router bits. I think the way the 0510Z holds the bits is better than the 1024. Do you know that you can download manuals for both the 1024 and the 0150Z at the Grizzly web site?

Hello JMK I thank-you for the follow up on the Grizzle shaper, but I sold it to a neighbor who had a router table that he did not like and fell in live with the Grizzle. He uses it all the time with 1/2” bits, he uses it as a router table. I did get a 1/2” Rockwell/Delta Shaper, I am trying to get a new spindle for it. Thank-you Dave

Dave does your neighbor have a manual, or know he can download it for free? Some parts ARE AVAILABLE for the 1024. I just got a manual for my Powermatic 23. I am sure many of the parts will interchange. I ordered grizzly parts for my shaper. They had everything I wanted except the plastic safty guard and I ordered the one from the 0510Z. I will see if it need to be modified to fit.

Dave, I have a G1024 shaper, complete with spindle. Mine has a broken motor pulley and I can’t get that either. How about a deal. I will buy your motor pulley for $100 or sell you my entire machine (for spindle and back up parts) for $150.

Hello Dixon, I posted the grizzly shaper problem back in 2008, I sold it with the router spindle, but I do appreciate you reaching out to me and trying to help. Thanks Dave
