Well, we hired a new guy a couple weeks ago. He replaced a fella we fired. Our new guy is a wood worker enthusiast and loves woodworking. He is the perfect fit for our small shop.

Well, to the point, we have functioned with a shaper since going full time about 20 months ago. I do not even own a router table however we own about 10 routers that rarely get used. Our new fella does some of his own projects in the shop and one of them he built himself a nice router table / cabinet. We used it a ton this past week while using a flush trim bit for some pattern work we had on arched doors and we also did some edge profile work with the small router table also. It was very cool using that router table.

Well, my new guy gave us a 30” X 40” heavy laminate square edge top. The top I believe might be designed to attach to a 12” table saw as a side table. But we plan to build two cabinets 28” wide by 19” deep that will set back to back making a total of 28” X 38”. I plan to install 1 router just above each of the cabinets so we would have a router table station plenty large with two routers available for set up.

So I am excited about adding a double router table to our shop in the near future.
