We have this exact machine at school and it choose it everyday over the brand new powermatic with a hellical head. Thats how nice these old machines are.

There is a retired log furniture maker up the Bitterroot who is selling 16” Crescent jointer. It has a 5 hp 3ph
motor and a 4 knife cutter head. He also has a 16” Monarch radial arm saw, which is super accurate. I have
neither the shop space or the money for either, but just thinking of them makes me drool.

Hi Len,

That’s one beauty. I guess we can all dream. It’s like looking at a souped up race car for our shops.

The old oliver tools are better then there new ones by far.I have a 10” oliver newer model good machine but the casting isnt what it used to be.For the big stuff I throw it on a 16” scmi cant beat it.
Everybody tells me here jointers are outdated I use them all the time.

That’s sweet! If I had the expendable cash and the space, I would use that more than my car. Wonder if the wife would mind sharing our bedroom with that? Better keep my mouth shut :)
