I frequently check CL, but never seem to find any deals…. so I pounced on this one when it came up within an hours drive….
Price for the lot was $150…
Mortiser has all chisels and tools and is in good shape… though I don’t care for the older fence system.
I’ve always wanted to putter on a scroll saw and make some ornaments, so I figured this would be a cheep way to get into it. This thing is sure loud and vibrates something fierce.
The rest was just gravy…. This is the second Sears router I’ve had fall into my lap cheep this spring, and I though I never had an ambition to collect routers…. I see the merit in keeping one or two set up for dedicated tasks. The saw will likely get set up with an abbrasive disk and kept in the shed for my occasional brick/stone cutting.
I already have the same slide vice as shown in this pic, so I’ll rotate the Delta mortiser on it’s base 180 deg. and mount it to my machine bench on a riser block, then mount the vise to the bench and have a pretty decent set up.
