Topic tags/keywords: frugal woodworking tip sharpening

I have been having my ‘disposable’ Ridgid planer blades sharpened for years (they cut better and last longer than the new ones) but had never considered having my Freud Diablo tablesaw blades sharpened. My sharpening guy said ‘Those are too expensive to throw away, of course I’ll sharpen them’. Just wanted to give you other “frugal woodworkers” a heads up. Anyone who throws their Ridgid planer blades away, send me a pm as I’d like to have them.

Good evening Andy, I have been sharpening my tablesaw blades for years. I recently got a new set of throw away blades for my Dewalt planer and was wondering if I could have the old ones sharpened. I guess the best way to find out is to try.

I used to have my skill saw blades sharpened, it was always cheaper to sharpen them than to buy new ones. Probably not true anymore.
