Just excited and wanted to share the news. The backorder from my local Woodcraft finally showed up and I am about to start assembling her.

Edit 2: PROBLEM SOLVED!
Rikon customer service (and Rodd in particular) was fantastic. They are overnighting me the missing piece and apologized for the mix up. I have actually never had a customer service rep that was that quick to respond, fix the problem and seem genuinely concerned that something went wrong.

edit 1: I seem to have run into a snag. I think they packed the wrong pieces for the base. I seem to have two hinged ends and not a front one where the latch is. The instructions seem to show a piece with a hole drilled in it to attach the handle (which I don’t have) and I seem to have two ends, with the pivot hinges on them. The door, it turns out is the long side piece, that is okay. I could assemble it as is, but I would not be able to fasten the door and it would have hinges sticking out the side. I have sent an email to Rikon, hopefully they can recitify this quickly. (Please excuse the slippers—I am assembling the base inside since it is snowing here today.)

I built a base for mine yes its a good Idea to bolt it to the base because this bandsaw is top heavy it can be tipped over if u r not careful u will have to do some adjusting for trackin on the bottom wheel and I use a 1” blade for resawing it really cuts straight a 1” TIMBERWOLF really resaws great and be careful when adjusting the bottom bearings for blade size because u can strip out the lock screw I stripped mine out but retapped to 1/4 20 but the motor has plenty of power and it saws good but the small blades aint to fun but enjoy your saw and be safe and make sure and build an outfeed table for the saw

I bought the demo at woodcraft in Louisville but I like it when I get time to use it, but I really like the woodcraft in Nashville tn its a lot bigger more floor space but woodcraft is like a nightmare for me always wanting but no money, the swithches on the rikon are not magnetic so if u plug and unplug like I do make sure the switch is off this I learned the hard way

Ardbeg, I’m so jealous!! waiting for MY backordered saw too. It does look a little funky with 2 doors, I would expect 3 sides of course and then a place to mount the door hinges, then a top plate where the saw itself mounts. Are you not seeing that? is it possible that you just have an extra door? Its hard to determine from the pics but have you tried just a loose assembly of what you have to see if it will go together? Good luck and keep us posted. I’m hoping I don’t have any issues when mine decides to show up!!

jobott, I hear you. I have been waiting over a month and now this…oh well. It turns out I have the door, it is the end piece that is wrong. I edited above for clarity. Hope yours comes soon and is trouble free.
