I’ve been reading reviews about the Steel City power tools and so far everything looks very positive. I do have a question about the granite parts…in doing many kitchen projects I do know that granite does chip and stain fairly easily. The staining not a real problem but the chipping does concern me. Anyone have any issues with this so far??

I’ve got the Steel City Midi Lathe as well as the Ridgid 5411 Table Saw which comes with a granite top. I have had no problems with either staining or chipping.
As far as the staining goes, the granite on both tools is black so it would be difficult to change the color with standard stains and finishes.
I have used the lathe extensively and the table saw lightly but have dropped and banged tools against them as part of normal every day use and have had no chips.

So far so good!
