My first lathe was not very well constructed for drilling holes through the center of a turned piece. When I started to make pepper grinders, I had to find a way to hold odd shaped pieces while on the drill press. This jig provides support along the full length of the piece. The long bolt slides through one of the slots in the drill press table and captures the individual pieces of the jig, which are positioned against the side of the work piece. A couple of clamps holds everything in place.
Thanks for playing. Lew |
