Topic tags/keywords: lathe chuck

My apologies if this has been addressed – I did my best to search first.

After a year of using TechShop’s Powermatic 4224, it’s time for me to get a lathe of my own at home. I can’t afford a full size beast but it seems like the Delta 40-460 is loved on LJ and will let me turn my smaller bowls and all the pens/stoppers I can imagine.

My question – I got a SuperNova2 chuck to use with the full size lathe. Teknatool site is saying to use the G3 or Midi chuck for midi lathes.

Is anyone using a SuperNova2 with a midi?
Has the weight or size been an issue?
Is it worth trying to sell the big chuck and getting a smaller one for the midi?

I’ve used a SuperNova2 on a Rikon and Jet midis at the Woodcraft store with no problems, as some others I know, and they haven’t reported any proiblems.
