I’m in the market for something with a riving knife, was looking at the Grizzly G0651 then I came across this Steel City one that looks to fit the bill. Anyone have/used one that they could comment on. The Grizzly is about $400 more because the riving knife only comes on their tricked out version, and the Powermatic/Sawstop are beyond my meager means.

Also I’d be interested in the cast iron top, not the granite one (I like my magnetic feather boards too much :)

Yes I have a 10” steel city table saw with a 3 hp motor and I find it to be really good,no better,no worse than the Delta,Powermatic or probably even the Jet.The Grizzly is probably fine too I just don’t have any experience with their table saws.
It went together easy,works great,was easy to adjust and with a really good sharp Foremost blade on it a thing of joy and beauty to cut with.

Hi Damian;

Personally, I would chose the Steel City, just based on brand reputation.

Have fun with your new toy.

Yeah, I think the Steel City is the way to go. Another thing to ponder is the fence. I currently have a 50” Vega, would the 50” Steel City fence be any better or would I be better off getting the cheaper 30” one and putting my own fence on it?

In what respect? Seems like quite a premium to pay for a couple of tables doesn’t it?
