How does one get rid of spam posts on their blogs…

I don’t see anywhere where I can delete the post, report it to the admin or even simply hide the post from view…

Having had run many websites myself I have notice a lot a spam accounts here on LumberJocks…
blog post in question

These are the same you get “word for word” on many other sites and forums etc, and is spam…

Block the offending user?

Nighthawk, within a day the spammer account will be discovered by the moderators and removed, and all its posts will disappear as well.

Like all spam, the best option is to ignore it. You have to trust your readers won’t associate it with your blog.

To the left of the comment, below the avatar, there is the word “Flag”. If you click on that you can select “spam” from the drop-down box. The administrators take care if it from there.

I went and looked, and unless I’m missing something, any spam responses there are already gone. So I’m assuming the problem is already fixed?

In the future though, I found out it is of great assistance to the site moderators to flag spam posts so they can more easily find them.

Also with new accounts first posting from a new user is automatically up for review before pubic posting.

“Also with new accounts first posting from a new user is automatically up for review before pubic posting.”

Maybe so …BUT! Most SPAM on here never goes any further than their initial Profile Posting. There is no way to “Flag” anyones Profile, so it stays here

I’ve gone through MANY New Members Profiles i.e. “Jocks, Recently Added” and ALWAYS Nail a bunch of them (4/5/6 Per Page At Least!) as SPAM. Short of doing a PM to “Whoever” there is NO way of getting them off of here. So. They’re just added to the “Member Count”.

EDIT: I just now went there and the First one was SPAM here: http://lumberjocks.com/Benjaminer

I left my Usual Greeting Card.

Oh Well. Not My Site, so “They” will do what they think is Proper.

SECOND EDIT: I went back there again and the Entire First Line (8) is ALL SPAM. Also one of our “Top Greeters” OR ”Highest Post Count” saw fit to welcome at least one of them to Lumberjocks. DUH???
