Topic tags/keywords: moulder planer smithway raising grain

I’m using a 4 head Smithway moulder. Putting ponderosa pine through it, the moulder is raising the grain (cutting soft grain out). The blades on the machine are brand new, and the wood is not wet or green. Any advice?

Thanks,
Jim Kelly

Ask on Woodweb. That’s where you’ll find experienced owner/users
of such specialized machinery.

Sounds like the pine might be too wet. Woodweb is a great place to ask. Dr Weingart is the expert.
