Topic tags/keywords: table saw delta model 34-300 tilt clamp

I inherited the saw from my dad about 15 years ago and only started getting into woodworking after I retired in 2006. I fell in love with woodworking and the saw means a lot to me. Recently the tilt clamp has stopped working 34-300 (Type 2) and I am 75% sure the tilt clamp (manual ref number 153 part 422-16-027-0002) is broken. Delta has not had the part for several years so I have a wtb listed on OWWM’s BOD but with no luck.

I have asked for advice on OWWM forum but so far I have not had a response.

I am looking for some advice on how to do the disassembly to get at the tilt clamp plus I wonder if anyone has come up with a way to repair it with an adhesive. I’d like to get some inputs before I start taking things apart and end up not being able to use my saw for several days/weeks? I currently have a c-clamp holding it at 90 deg but I either need to get it fixed or buy a new/used saw.

Thanks,
Paul Smith

Paul, I still have most of a Rockwell 34-345 Motorized Saw. It looks like this is the same as a 36-961 and both are similar to yours. I will be happy to try taking this part off of mine when I get a chance and send it to you if you want it. -Jack

Jack,
Wow I was about to give up on locating the part. Yes it sure looks like the the same part I am interested in getting it from you. How much do you want for it? I was going to start taking it apart next week but figure I will delay doing anything until the part arrives.
Thanks,
Paul

Got it apart. I didn’t check part numbers. They look the same, but I’ll send the whole shaft assembly 143-158 to help avoid minor incompatibilities if you want it. Just pay for shipping and a thank you will be fine. PM your address. -Jack
