I am looking at a low cost replacement for a ryobi saw. I don’t have much room. The porter Cable looks like it has good reviews but the rockwell is pretty new and has very few reviews. It looks like it has great features and a great cut capacity.

The laser sight on the rockwell seems interesting but not essential. The folding extension table is nice as is the 30 inch capacity…

Have you looked at Bosch? Might cost a bit more but I hear good things about it.

The bosch is $550 which is $200 more and if I’m going that high, the rigid would be my choice. I didn’t see much of an advantage for $200 more

The Ridgid is an upgrade. Those other two are not. I once had a Ryobi also. I now have a Ridgid that I bought six years ago at home depot for $500 and today I could get it there for …..$500 My shop is small so the wheels under the Ridgid saw are a great help.

Why aren’t the others upgrades? Better fences, expansion tables, universal miter slots… I have the 99 dollar ryobi with a tiny table that feels like it is going to vibrate itself apart every time I start it

It’s been my observation that somebody revived the Rockwell name and priced everything about 50% more than comparable products. I wouldn’t buy their stuff for that reason alone.

I will suggest you go look at the saws and get a better feel for the quality. You already know that jobsite saws are loud and have limited power.

get the ridgid. left tilt instead of right tilt. also, LSA. find a HD that honors the harbor freight 20% off any single item and the price is $400 pretax.
