I’ve got a question for anyone out there who is familiar with Rex Alexander’s “Stickley Done Lightly” table. I’m a bit unsure of how the tabletop is attached – the plans aren’t very clear. Has anyone done this table and can tell me how it’s done? I would greatly appreciate it.

I have the article and he uses the sub table in the center to attach the top to the base. It’s got oversize screw holes to allow the top to move with the seasons. I think I would also put some table irons or buttons on the ends to keep the top snug to the base all the way around.

Thanks. I was thinking maybe some buttons – didn’t seem like enough just to attach it to the subtop.

Anyone else have thoughts? Thanks again.
